Javier's Wish – Granted on 28 Oct 2017

“I wish to have a laptop”

We first met Javier in August 17 in the hospital after he had his transplant. Javier has a happy-go-lucky personality and we had some difficulty ascertaining his true wish. We managed to find out that he loves the Minions, and after giving him some time to think about what he truly wanted, he told us that he would like a laptop for his e-learning in school. We wanted to combine his love for the Minions along with his wish for a laptop, and hence a USS trip & a staycation at Amara Sanctuary Resort was planned for his wish day.

To give him some autonomy in his wish, we brought Javier and his family to Gain City to choose the laptop. Employees from GovTech also came along to share some advice on which laptop he should buy and the accompanying accessories. He was full of anticipation and excitement and looked forward to his wish day which had a whole host of fun activities for him and his family. They had exclusive VIP access to the rides and met the Minions for some photo opportunities.

Meanwhile, we (wish granters and employees from GovTech) decorated his hotel room and hid all his presents in various locations in the room. When Javier reached the hotel room, we had a game of treasure hunt with him. After he found all the presents, we cut his wish day cake and sang him a wish day song (to the tune of Happy Birthday).

Javier and his family were very excited over the spacious room with its private jacuzzi, and Javier showed us the numerous photos he took with his handphone during the USS trip. We subsequently ordered a photo album for them to have a keepsake of his wish day.

This wish was adopted and funded by GovTech.
