Avengers Assemble! In true Avengers fashion, 37 Make-A-Wish beneficiaries were sworn in as Little Avengers by Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War cast member Robert Downey Jr. (a.k.a. Iron Man) at the first-ever Avengers Academy held at Marina Bay Sands earlier today.
Jointly organised by Make-A-Wish Singapore, The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia and Marina Bay Sands, the Avengers Academy aims to celebrate and honour Make-A-Wish children who have harnessed the power of a wish to battle critical illnesses.
The event was organised in the lead-up to World Wish Day 2018 on 29 April, which marks the 38th anniversary of the first wish that inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organisation that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. In addition to this milestone, Make-A-Wish Singapore is also commemorating its 16th anniversary in April this year.
The transformative power of a wish is evident in the 37 little heroes who attended the Avengers Academy and had their wishes granted by Make-A-Wish Singapore. For every wish experience made possible by the donors and volunteers, it provided the wish children and their families with renewed hope and strength to fight for better health.
