From planning the perfect birthday party to an amazing trip with their families and friends, Make-A-Wish takes each child on a carefully designed, unique journey where they anticipate and experience their most cherished wish coming true.
The wish journey begins the moment your child’s application is approved. Our wonderful Wish Team works closely with a pool of incredible volunteers to carefully plan a wish journey that complements a child’s medical treatment and long-term well-being. Once we’ve tapped into their imagination to capture their cherished wish, we’ll take them on a wondrous journey of anticipation in the lead up to their wish coming true.
Make-A-Wish volunteers visit each child to capture their greatest wish, getting to the heart of what kids truly want and why. This profound insight is part of what makes Make-A-Wish unique, giving children full creative control and helping to shape their entire wish journey.
Every child’s imagination is unique, so we partner with families, volunteers and medical teams to design each journey to create an extraordinary experience that stays true to the child’s cherished wish.
In the lead up to the wish, we take each child on a journey designed to build excitement and provide a welcome distraction from medical treatment. This can be powerful as the wish itself. It creates anticipation and empowers the child by actively involving them in the creation of their wish.
Wish impact studies show that a child’s wish lives on, long after the moment. A wish gives more than just hope – with an incredible and lasting effect on the lives of children with critical illnesses, their families and wider communities.
When the moment finally arrives, children get to experience their greatest wish come true – it’s everything they’ve imagined and more.
More than a one-off experience, a wish has a proven, lasting and life-changing impact on a child with a critical illness and everyone around them. From the anticipation to the realisation of a wish, a child and everyone around them are touched by its powerful effects, giving them renewed hope and strength.
At the same time, its positive impact can radiate and uplift their families and the wider community, creating treasured memories that will last a lifetime.
Help us grant wishes to every eligible child in Singapore. We rely on wish referrals from caring individuals to help us reach more children with critical illnesses and grant their life-changing wishes. Referrals are accepted from medical professionals, parents/guardians or even the children themselves.
Click on “Refer a Child” and give us your contact details and our team will reach out with the application form and more information on eligibility criteria. Before referring any child to us, please seek the consent of the child being referred, or a parent/guardian of the child (if the child is below 13 years old).
The Wish Team will review your application and check that we have all the information we need and get in touch with the family.
Once we have your consent, we will contact your child’s treating medical specialist, as they must approve your application before we can proceed.
Once your application is approved, we’ll work closely your child, your family and our dedicated wish granters to capture and bring an incredible wish journey to life – with every wish experience as individual and unique as the child who imagined them!

While most wish requests fall into four major categories, the possibilities are endless! Our wish children are so creative and imaginative when given the chance to have a wish experience:
• I wish to go…
Some wish children want to travel to their favourite theme park, while others want to visit an exotic beach, go on a cruise, see snow for the first time or attend a major sporting event or concert.
• I wish to be…
Children search the depths of their imagination when they wish to be someone for a day – an author, a fireman, a police officer or even a superhero.
• I wish to meet…
Some children want to meet their favourite athlete, artist, television personality, movie star, politician or other public figure.
• I wish to have…
Wish children sometimes wish for a special gift such as a computer, a wheelchair, a shopping spree or something they have wanted for a long time.
